Police are warning drivers in the Nicosia district to be particularly careful because of heavy rain and low visibility.

It said the downpour was particularly heavy in the Kokkinotrimithia, Paliometho and Archangelos areas.

Water has collected on the road surface, roads are slippery and visibility is poor.

Drivers should drive slowly, keep a safe distance from other cars and switch on their headlights.
