Torrential rains in the past three days have brought much needed water to dams, a total of five million cubic meters.
Water development official Faidros Roussis described the flow as very important, with the biggest at the Asprokremmos dam with one million 600 thousand cubic meters, with Arminou taking in 930 thousand and the Kourris dam, the largest in Cyprus, taking in 730 thousand cubic meters.Rousis said that the islands' dam reserves now stand at 128 million cubic meters, a capacity of 44 percent, while last year, capacity was at 48 percent.
